Deck Training Flow Chart

This is the current MCA structure for deck crew. This ladder takes crew from no experience to a Captain of 5000gt. The most important place to start is with STCW safety course, Then Yachtaster.
On larger yachts it is quite competitive and you can find that a Yachtmaster could be a minimum ticket on deck. The upside to all the required qualifications is usually only crew who really love yachting go to the expense of the courses. This means higher you go you will defiantly find more opportunities and money .
